The Naranjo Museum of Natural History is the lastest addition to Lufkin's museum and education community. Dr. Neal and Mary Ann Naranjo opened the museum to give exploring minds the opportunity to see history first hand.

In September the Naranjo Museum of Natural History held its grand opening, making The Lufkin Daily News top 10 stories of 2012.

An out of this world exhibit is coming to East Texas for the first time. A moon rock and space helmet will be on display at the Naranjo Museum beginning Feb. 1st.

Neal Naranjo and his team put the finishing touches on Bubba Rex the only life-size, T-Rex replica in East Texas. The bones were cast from a real T-Rex fossil, "Stan," which was found in the Spring of 1987 in the Hell Creek formation near Buffalo S.D.

Stomp, chomp, roar, prehistoric fun galore! Reagan Crow celebrated her 9th birthday at the Naranjo Museum.

Saturday morning the ribbon was cut and the first museum of natural history in deep East Texas was opened to the public.

Dr. Neal Naranjo and his family spent 14 months in planning and constructing the Naranjo Museum of Natural History.

Enjoy the museum up close with fabulous food, beer and wine (adults will be responsible for their children). Doors open at 7PM with music, guided tours and exciting interactive exhibits.

Something big is coming to East Texas. The Naranjo Museum of Natural History will open its doors to the public on Saturday, September 8, 2012. Families, friends, media and history enthusiasts are all welcomed for the ribbon cutting at 10 a.m., 5104 South First St., Lufkin, TX.
